Ron Gorman

Superintendent

Kent ISD

Dr. Ron Gorman serves as Superintendent of Kent Intermediate School District, a role he assumed in July 2024 following the retirement of Ron Koehler. Prior to becoming superintendent, he served as Kent ISD's Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services, overseeing Early Childhood, Secondary Programs and Teaching and Learning while helping lead initiatives that support student growth and leadership development.

With more than 25 years in public education, Dr. Gorman brings extensive experience as a classroom teacher, principal, instructional leader, administrator and interim superintendent. Before joining Kent ISD in 2022, he spent his career with Grand Rapids Public Schools, where he served in a variety of leadership roles focused on advancing student achievement and educational opportunities.

A dedicated advocate for public education, Dr. Gorman is passionate about creating learning environments where all students can succeed. His leadership is grounded in collaboration, innovation and a commitment to preparing students for success in school, career and life. Through his work with educators, community leaders and stakeholders across Kent County, he continues to help shape the future of education throughout the region.
